About
Meena Kang (they/she) is an artist, designer, and activist navigating many passions and realities.
Born in Daejeon, South Korea, they are currently based in New York, graduated with a BFA from the Costume Design program at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. In 2022, Meena took their studies to the National University of Singapore, to study East Asian art, film, theatre practices, and theatre history.
An internationally award winning cosplay maker and craftsmanship judge, they have brought countless designs from a variety of medias to life, traveling nationwide to educate on craftsmanship and the intersection of DEI and costume design.
They dream of blending their creativity and activism, using art as a catalyst for social change and uplifting BIPOC artists and voices. As a young, queer, Asian adoptee, Meena possesses a unique perspective on life they hope to share through their creative content and the stories they tells.
